Where did I go?
I’m back. I finally feel in a position to
return to my blog, and not only that but I also feel like I have returned with
lots of exciting content that I didn’t have before I left. I’ve been gone a
little over a year and I haven’t blogged properly since 2017 – which is a scary
thought as a lot has happened since then. Lots of crazy things have occurred, and
I can’t wait to share them with you all.
Why did I go?
I have spoken about this before on my Instagram
but I have to say I found blogging becoming more of a chore than a hobby. It was
a task that I was beginning to dread instead of being excited about it. There
were so many elements that I found exhausting and it totally took the love out
of it. It was all about the views and the more views the better – so much so
that I believe I didn’t find the views I was getting to be authentic, why was no
one commenting when I felt I had put so much effort into my post? I think the
answer was I was spending so much time promoting my post instead of enjoying
the content that I was writing. After a while this monotonous repetition became
boring and I had to stop.
But there were many other events that contributed
to it and these were:
Getting a Master’s Degree
The year I completed it many things happened,
some happy and some extremely sad. But while I was completing my Master’s degree
I developed a very strong love/hate relationship with it. I found it difficult,
challenging and extremely interesting. But I did not have the same experience I’m
sure other students had. I’m not going to bore you with the details. But I’m
proud of myself for doing it and for what I achieved. Afterall, I wrote a
bloody book!
Getting engaged
By far my favourite part of last year has to
be getting engaged to my best friend and the love of my life. Sappy? Extremely!
But it’s true. A dream came true when Ollie proposed to me on the Eiffel Tower.
Paris is my favourite city in the world and whenever we go back there is always
so much more to explore. I felt like a Princess and I can’t wait to share my
engagement story soon!
Buying a house
This year we bought a house. It still feels
strange and out of this world that we are home owners. I still don’t feel like
I’m old enough to be one. But we are and it’s crazy! I’m going to be doing many
blog posts on our home adventure – including before and afters of the rooms and
our work in progress. And let’s not forget that all important IKEA haul!
Planning our wedding
We get married on Saturday 21st
December and I couldn’t be more excited. So be prepared for many wedding posts:
top tips, décor ideas, beauty regimes!
I hope you’re as excited as I am for what’s
to come and I’m so grateful if you’ve been on this crazy journey with me for a
while. And those of you who are new, welcome!
Welcome Back
